Drill Hall

The Territorial Army Centre at Chart Lane was originally developed at the start of the 20th century. While the site is neither listed, designated as a heritage asset, nor located within a conservation area, several of its buildings are considered locally distinctive and contribute positively to the area's character.

The existing Drill Hall that sits on the site embodies a robust Victorian-era industrial aesthetic, with its brickwork - featuring contrasting piers, recessed panels, and dentils - reinforcing the design language and reflecting the original intent of the whole Territorial Army site. The Caretakers House south of the site and mess hall to the east follows a similar design language.
